This week, I attended the 9th edition of the Julia hackathon. The attendees were the usual suspects from Mainz and Zürich, with a couple of fresh faces from elsewhere as well. I visited the University of Leeds for 2 days and gave a seminar on thermal runaway and deep-focus earthquakes. Afterwards, I had a lot of very nice discussions with the earthquake and volcano deformation researchers at the insitute.
